Art

Being born in Peru, I like to bring my unique cultural perspective to all of my work with a blend of global influences.

A vibrant exploration of color and culture, these pieces I created are inspired by traditional Peruvian textile patterns from many of Peru’s ancient civilizations. The extraordinary textile legacy of these civilizations artfully conveys distinctive cultural elements through their masterful embroidery, tapestry, and natural dyeing techniques.

In these works, the pristine contours and digital reverberations stand in stark juxtaposition to the artisanal and wonderfully flawed handwoven textiles. A fusion of old and new, a celebration of the enduring legacy of traditional Peruvian textiles seamlessly integrated into the digital age.

Here, the digital distortions serve as a poignant metaphor for the contemporary world, its transformative influence contorting the ancient and time-honored. Just as many Indigenous communities in Peru, and all over the world, have been forced to adapt to our modern and digital world in order to survive.

A fusion of old and new, a celebration of the enduring legacy of traditional Peruvian textiles seamlessly integrated into the digital age.
